In order to provide health services at LI, I am available Monday-Friday 7:30 AM -3:30PM at the Infirmary located in the Yellow House. I am a Registered Nurse and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Students who become ill during the school day may see me and appropriate measures will be taken. Day parents will be notified when necessary. I will make every effort to keep students in class. Students are encouraged to use the Infirmary only when necessary during school hours. Minor first aid supplies are available in classrooms. It is important to remember that day students who are ill before school should not come to school but rather remain at home and consult their health care provider if needed.
Vermont law requires that students be immunized against: Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (DPT), polio, Measles and Rubella (German measles). All immunization dates must be on the student's record. Make sure your child has a ten year Tetanus, a second MMR, and the completed Hepatitis B series (all 3) (required by law) before entering school. Students may be excluded from school for failure to comply with immunization requirements.
I am available during certain school hours for advice or counseling on health related issues, and by appointment before and after school. If you have any questions, call me at (802) 626-6179. Catherine M.Boykin, RN, PNP
