Introduction Graphic Arts Level I - Prerequisite: None
In the first year, students will learn safety and ergonomics, workplace environment, Macintosh computer systems, file organization & storage, graphic design history, the design process, principles and element of design, layout and design, grids and guides, digital imaging, research & copyright infringement, print production, color theory, typography, and branding. Students will work on a variety of starter mini projects and portfolio projects and will gain a beginner understanding of the industry-standard software programs, Illustrator CC and Photoshop CC. Students will complete introduction designs as part of this Introduction to Graphic Arts.
