FIELD HOCKEY
Varsity
Head Coach - Jen Patridge '02 [email protected]
The Lyndon Institute Girls Varsity Field Hockey Team has achieved many honors in its long history, including several seasons in which the team played in the Vermont state semi-finals. The program reached its greatest success during the 2017 season, winning the Division III Vermont State Championship. Each year several Lyndon athletes are selected to compete for the elite Capital League teams, and in recent years eight Lyndon players have gone on to play on college field hockey teams.
Field hockey practices and games begin in mid-August and end on October 31. The teams practice two hours per day (Monday-Friday) and play 14 games during the season, with more games possible if the varsity team makes it to the playoffs. Lyndon fields varsity and junior varsity teams, so all players are guaranteed a place in the program. The school provides uniforms and shin guards for every player. Lyndon has a performance center/weight room available daily and during the evenings for our athletes.
Varsity Head Coach, Jen Patridge, LI Class of ‘02 has been at the helm of the team since the summer of 2020. Coach Patridge was LI's JV field hockey coach from 2013-2016 and did a tremendous job. She has a special ability to relate to student-athletes and reflects the mission of LI’s Core Values. “I’m really excited to be back working with student-athletes at Lyndon Institute and look forward to continuing a rich, winning tradition of field hockey at LI and teaching skills to all ages of students in the area. I want to build a great program that our alumni and fans will be proud of,” said Patridge.
