Opportunities in the Arts abound at Lyndon Institute. As a culmination of the achievements in theater over the 2018-19 school year, the Annual Student Theater Showcase will be presented on Thursday, May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. The performance will be held in the Alumni Auditorium and admission is by donation.

Celebrating the spirit of collaboration in theater, three classes have come together to present a Reader’s Theater production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performed and designed by the students of Lyndon Institute. Reader’s Theater is an extraordinary opportunity for theater art creation, allowing students to bring to life the whimsical characters of Shakespeare’s comedic masterpiece through a staged reading performance. Fairies, love triangles, and a maker of mischief are certain to delight audiences of all ages.

With acting and directing done by the Introduction to Theater and the Advanced Acting classes, as well as technical design by the Stage Craft class, this evening of student talent is a proud moment for Lyndon Institute. Students have been challenged with crafting a theatrical production from start to finish in only a few weeks’ time. From directing to costuming, each student has a say in their vision for the final product, while at the same time demonstrating the skills which they have been honing throughout the year.

The Student Theater Showcase is presented under the mentorship of Lyndon Institute’s Theater Company Artistic & Technical Director, Laura Wayne. For more information, please e-mail [email protected].
