Biography

After graduating from Nashoba Regional High School in Bolton, Massachusetts, Doug attended Bates College where he majored in Secondary Education and Political Science while playing on the defensive line for the Bates Bobcats football team.  After working at the Biddeford Alternative middle school for one year Doug worked as an apprentice vegetable and dairy farmer for 2 years before coming to Lyndon Institute in the fall of 1991. Doug started his LI teaching career in the Special Education department before moving to the Social Studies department in 1993. Since that time Doug has taught US History, Contemporary US History, Consumer and AP Macro Economics, World Civilizations, World Geography, and Global Studies 1 and 2. He has also served as a football coach since 1993. He has umpired JV and Varsity baseball for the Northeast Umpires Association as well as serving as a volunteer umpire for Lyndon Youth Baseball at the Minor, Little League and Babe Ruth levels. Doug is married to Adrienne D’Olimpio and is the parent of Zoe, LI Class of `14 and Duncan, LI Class of `20.
