The Lyndon Institute Girls Varsity Field Hockey Team has achieved many honors in its long history, including several seasons in which the team played in the Vermont state semi-finals. The program reached its greatest success during the 2017 season, winning the Division III Vermont State Championship. Each year several Lyndon athletes are selected to compete for the elite Capital League teams, and in recent years eight Lyndon players have gone on to play on college field hockey teams.
Field hockey practices and games begin in mid-August and end on October 31. The teams practice two hours per day (Monday-Friday) and play 14 games during the season, with more games possible if the varsity team makes it to the playoffs. Lyndon fields varsity and junior varsity teams, so all players are guaranteed a place in the program. The school provides uniforms and shin guards for every player. Lyndon has a performance center/weight room available daily and during the evenings for our athletes.
Coach Roxanne Courser has 19 years’ experience leading the Lyndon Institute field hockey program.
