The Lyndon Institute Boys Basketball program fields three teams, Varsity, JV, and JVB. For the 2017-18 season, the program will be moving to Division I, Vermont’s highest division.

Through participation in the basketball program, students learn self-discipline, build self-esteem, and develop skills to handle competitive situations. The program also gives student athletes the opportunity to learn, grow, and to develop qualities that students need if they are to become responsible adults, productive citizens, and skilled professionals.

Head Coach Phil Joyal just completed his third season of coaching at Lyndon Institute. During this time, his teams have compiled a 53-16 record, won two Capital Division titles, made two Final Four appearances, and won the 2016 Vermont Division II State Championship title. For the 2014-15 season, Coach Joyal was voted the Capital Division Coach of the Year.

Coach Joyal lives in Lyndon with his son Justin and daughter Lindsay.
