Diversity & Inclusion

The role of the Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator is both mission driven and research supported. One of the Promises that we make to our community is to provide a safe and caring environment for everyone at LI. Additionally, when considering the LI Principles we believe in developing knowledgeable, thoughtful, and engaged citizens. Research supports that in order to do this well, students and our professional community must learn critical skills to operate in a society that is becoming more diverse.

It is because of this that I serve on the Leadership team and I provide my insight and opinion on every decision that takes place for this school community. I also oversee the Advisory program and weekly Assembly - which are key gathering points for our students and faculty. In addition to this, I serve as a resource for faculty members by offering professional development and I offer regular “Chat and Chew” sessions to help educate students on social justice issues. I am looking forward to creating more opportunities and initiatives to move LI in a positive direction so we can achieve our Purpose of providing thoughtful and rigorous preparation for students of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and beyond to reach their intellectual, creative, and physical potential.
