Math Teacher

We are currently seeking a full-time Math Teacher to join our team!  This position would begin teaching in January 2019 at the beginning of our second semester.
 
We are seeking candidates with a broad teaching range who have an array of course experiences.  This position may teach subjects ranging from Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and Statistics.  Candidates with a foundation in standards-based curriculum and experience with proficiencies are preferred.
 
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • provide a stimulating learning environment for each child
  • exhibit enthusiasm for the topics s/he teaches
  • collaborate as a team player with teaching colleagues and administrators
  • partner with parents, communicating effectively and frequently with them
  • market the school by a willingness to showcase her/his teaching and to communicate with prospective families
  • be an engaged member of the Lyndon Institute community, showing support and involvement in student activities outside of the classroom
  • model behavior that reflects the Mission, Vision, and Values of Lyndon Institute
  • attend all faculty meetings throughout the year (these may begin before 7:30 a.m. or end after 3:00 p.m.)
  • participate in special education teams, IEP and/or 504 meetings to meet the needs of the students
  • attend all required school events
  • use instructional time effectively, focusing full attention on the students
  • accept responsibility for a safe and clean environment within the classroom
  • create lesson plans that are aligned to appropriate standards and expectations
  • manage classroom behavior, enforce policies and rules set forth in the Student Handbook. Make appropriate referrals to Campus Life for behavioral issues.
  • create a substitute folder (with all required documents) and keep it on file in Campus Life
  • complete mandatory reporter, CPR, first aid and sexual misconduct training, as required
  • inform the Assistant Head for Curriculum & Instruction of the progress of students and concerns about students, make appropriate referrals to other student support resources available on campus
  • keep daily attendance and developmental records
 

Instructional Assistant

An Instructional Assistant supports students to develop academic, behavioral, communication, and social skills within the educational setting. Duties of this position include supporting a student with multiple disabilities who need a highly structured day with an emphasis on daily living and community-based skills. The position also involves working with individual or small groups of students in regular class settings to support their educational needs. 

Qualified candidates should enjoy adolescents, be well organized, appreciate diversity in the workplace, have the ability to multi-task, have a calm demeanor, be familiar with Google tools, and have the ability to work independently.

Special Education Teacher/Case Manager

Lyndon Institute is seeking a talented, creative, and dedicated educator to work with a dynamic group of special educators. Bus Drivers

Lyndon Institute, a comprehensive independent high school in northeastern Vermont, is seeking applications for Bus Drivers. There is a $500 dollar sign-on bonus and the cost to obtain a CDL Class B School Bus Endorsement will be covered if needed. The right candidates will have the responsibility of a designated bus route in the morning and afternoon of school days. With the possibility of additional driving throughout the day and or on weekends for field trips, sports, etc.  Any offers of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check, fingerprinting, and physical.

Responsibilities:
  • Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons
  • Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Perform pre/post trip inspections of the bus or vehicle
  • Ensure the safety of students at all times
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Clean Class B License with air brakes, Passenger & School bus endorsements
  • Familiar with DOT rules and requirements
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Minimum 3 years’ Bus driving experience

Adult Ed. Phlebotomy Instructor and Teacher

Lyndon Institute Adult Career and Technical Education is now accepting applications for an Adult Phlebotomy Instructor and Teacher.

The right candidate will share their expertise and knowledge of Phlebotomy with adult students.  This candidate must have experience teaching in a classroom or in a one-on-one setting as well as being a certified Phlebotomy technician. This is a contracted teaching position based on enrollment needs. Candidate must have background check, finger printing, and be fully vetted.

Adult Ed. Welding Instructor and Teacher

Lyndon Institute Adult Career and Technical Education is now accepting applications for an Adult Welding Instructor and Teacher.

The right candidate will share their expertise and industry knowledge of welding with adult students while enjoying the rewards of teaching to students eager to learn the techniques of welding and enhancing their current welding skills and earning certifications when possible.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in related welding industry.
  • Experience welding in the construction, structural, fabrication, manufacturing and/or pipe industries
  • Experience setting up and operating GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, Oxy/Fuel and/or Plasma cutting equipment.
  • Welding certifications in the areas of SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and or pipe welding
  • Current welding certifications in area of expertise preferred but not required
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and/or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) through American Welding Society, (AWS) or an equivalent.

This is a contracted position based on enrollment needs. Candidate must have background check, finger printing and be vetted.
