Lyndon Institute Presents the Annual Student Theater Showcase
Opportunities in the arts abound at Lyndon Institute. As a culmination of the achievements in theater over the 2017-18 school year, the Annual Student Theater Showcase will be presented on Thursday, May 24th at 7:00 p.m. The performance will be held in Alumni Auditorium and admission is by donation.
Celebrating the spirit of collaboration in theater, three classes have come together to present an original play written, directed, performed, and designed by the students of Lyndon Institute. This spring, the Stage Craft class was tasked with creating a concept for an original theatrical production that included both a scripted story, as well as personal student monologues. The result is a piece entitled Hide and Seek, which focuses on a traditional story while incorporating student thoughts on personal fears and what they seek in life.
With acting and directing by the Introduction to Theater and the Advanced Acting classes, as well as technical design by the Stage Craft class, this evening of student talent is a proud moment for Lyndon Institute. Students have been challenged with crafting a theatrical production from start to finish in only a few weeks’ time. From casting to costuming, each student has a say in their vision for the final product, while at the same time demonstrating the skills which they have been honing throughout the year.
The Student Theater Showcase is presented under the mentorship of Lyndon Institute’s Theater Company Artistic & Technical Director, Laura Wayne. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
