What do you miss the most about your time at LI?
The community. Between my friends, the amazing teachers, and the coaches, LI had this unique balance of being small enough to feel close-knit but big enough to always offer something new. I did not know everyone deeply, but I knew enough people to always feel connected, and no matter what, there was a sense that everyone supported each other.

The international student community. I made so many friends from all over the world!

What is something you wished had been different about your LI experience?
I wish we had more opportunities like today’s students do, especially for unique, non-standard classes like wilderness survival or carpentry. Those kinds of hands-on experiences would have been great additions to my LI years.

What advice do you have for students as they look for future careers or programs to apply to?
Do not limit yourself. Push beyond your comfort zone and try new things. Your journey doesn’t have to be set. I am a perfect example of how your journey doesn’t have to be linear or be limited. Changing majors or even careers is not a setback, it is an opportunity. Each shift adds perspective and makes you a more well-rounded person, with the ability to connect across disciplines and with different people.

What is your favorite quote?
“I used to think that the worst thing in life was to end up alone. It is not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel alone.” – Robin Williams
