Head Coach - Dan Nolan '95
Lyndon Institute football plays in Vermont’s Division II football league. With two teams, including JV and Varsity teams, we ensure that all students on our teams have an opportunity to play. Our season begins in mid-August and ends in mid-November, with 9 regular-season games and the potential for two playoff games. In 2013, we were the League Champions and State Runners-Up.
We are especially proud of our long-standing culture of school and community involvement. As part of one of the oldest high school football rivalries in the nation, we have faced St. Johnsbury Academy for “The Big Game” nearly every year dating back to 1894, drawing thousands of fans each year.
Prior to his return to LI, Coach Nolan was the running backs and strength and conditioning coach at Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Texas, home of one of the high schools featured in the film Friday Night Lights. He has seventeen years of service on the field, with seven years as a head coach and ten years as an assistant. Coach Nolan is co-author of The Mental Game of Football with the nationally-known motivational speaker Brian Cain.
