Roy Starling received B.A. and M.A. degrees in Classics from Florida State University. A lifelong multi-generational Floridian, he came to the Kingdom because it is such a wonderful place to live and raise children. He started his career as a high school teacher at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne, Florida. After homeschooling his boys and sailing around Florida for a year, he landed at The Riverside School in 2008 where he taught Latin, Spanish, Ancient History, and served as facilities director. In 2014 he started working at LI, where he taught Latin, Spanish, Greek, served as department chair, and co-directed the Vail Scholars Program. Roy is currently Head of School at The Riverside School. During his free time, Roy enjoys cycling, fishing, hiking, and surfing. He lives in Sheffield with his wife Jennifer and his three dogs, Lily, Nola, and Bear.
